More hospital time...

I have had some more time in the hospital, about a month in total. I'm getting stronger and hope to be back to creating soon.
The holiday season is going to be a challenge for me. As most of my nutrition comes from a feeding tube, it is difficult to even smell all of the wonderful baking and cooking of the holidays.  Please visit http://www.g-pact.org/ for more  information on digestive tract disorders.

A little bit about GP

Remember the last time you had the stomach flu? People with gastroparesis and chronic intestinal pseudo-obstruction battle severe nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration 24/7/365. It's like having the stomach flu for years. Help us find a cure! www.g-pact.org or www.facebook.com/GPACT

Hope

"The capacity for hope is the most significant fact of life. It provides human beings with a sense of destination and the energy to get started."

Much to share...when I am a bit better.

I just got home from the hospital tonight. Its been a rough 2 1/2 weeks fighting gastroparesis. Three surgeries later I am back home. Now I REALLY want to get out the word on GP!  I hope to be feeling better soon so I can participate in some of the blog hop happenings and get back to creating...its such good distraction!

Hospital

This blog is coming to you from Julie's husband Erik. Julie is currently in the hospital. Her feeding tube became dislodged and was sitting in her stomach. It is not supposed to be there. She received a new one but it was not placed correctly. They will now put a second replacement in. Please pray for her. She will be back soon

MPS day 2 of Countdown to Karlee

Today's challenge at My Pink Stamper is to make something cute. I think this card with the little gem for the "cherry" on top of the birthday cake is pretty cute. I used a TPS stamp for the sentiment and the Just Because cart for the cake. The ribbon and paper are from my stash, which I have a lot of from my hoarding days. I hope I can figure out where some of the supplies came from! LOL

Did you know that approximately 5 million Americans, including children, suffer from gastroparesis? See http://g-pact.org/index.html for more information.

Thanks for peekin'!
TheScrapbookingQueen has put out a challenge to make a card for breast cancer awareness. Here is one that I made today.  I hope to make some more cards for this cause soon. Sorry I don't have all of the details. I'll post them later as I have to get back on my feeding pump. Gastroparesis is what I am fighting, and it is not playing nice right now!

First Challenge! MPS: Countdown to Karlee Day 1

Robyn at MPS first challenge was to  make something for someone and give it to them or send it to them. I made a set of cards for the President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in my town. This is my very first time attempting a challenge!

Oh, My Blogness...

I am stepping out of my comfort zone and creating a blog.  I have quite a bit of time on my hands due to a disability called Gastroparesis (I'll talk about that more some other time) and when I am having my better days, I will be creating or blogging...or both!! It really is a priority for me to bring awareness about Gastroparesis (GP), so I'm glad I found somewhere to share my creative side while giving some information about about GP.

My husband bought a Cricut for my birthday a couple of weeks ago to help me deal with some of the time I have and to help distract me from my pain. So, thanks to him,  my creativity bug has come back!  I've dusted off my good ol' scrapbooking supplies and bought a few new tools and supplies. Now my goal is to use my supplies instead of hoarding them!  I named my Cricut "Stella" because something you have wanted for a long time should have a name, right?

In my effort to use Stella efficiently, I naturally went to the Internet to find some tutorials and was thrilled to discover the wonderful world of blogs! I have been so inspired by the people who share their skills, ideas and creations. I am pretty darn clueless about how to do this blogging business, so it's gonna take a little time to figure it out. But hey....I got this far!

If you are reading this, I hope you'll come back when there is something interesting to see! Pictures to follow SOON!

Thanks for taking a peek!
